Barnstaple 2014

This was my first marathon. I have to be honest I had no idea what I was letting myself in for! I had only started running in July 2013, I had never even attempted a half marathon! However I trained hard and was ready for the day. I decided to raise funds for Hospicare as they gave such great care to my Dad and my family, I wanted to give something back. It was a tough course but I finished in 4 hours 18 mins. I was very pleased and elated that I had managed to achieve this.

London 2015

I have always wanted to take part in this. I was inspired by someone I knew who did it most years. I decided again to raise money for Hospicare, they kindly gave me one of their charity place so I felt privileged to run for them.
My family came up to support me as I was very nervous about taking on this marathon.
I LOVED London! The atmosphere was amazing, the support was great and it was just fabulous to be part of.
I finished in 4 hours and 1 minute! I was absolutely delighted!

New York 2016

I dreamt of running this marathon! I had previously entered the ballot a couple of times and not got in. One evening I decided let’s try the ballot again! I didn’t get in but decided to try and run for a charity. I was given a place by Aktiv Against Cancer.
I raised £2000 for them and was privileged to run for them.
This marathon was amazing! The views, running through 5 boroughs, the support!! I loved it!!
The people of New York cheered and clapped as we walked back to the hotel at the end of the marathon. I felt a huge achievement at running this marathon, it was a fantastic experience.

Berlin 2017

This time I raised money for the North Devon Hospice. I am am volunteer there and know how much they need to raise each year.
Berlin marathon was amazing! We finished across the Brandenburg Gate, I was delighted to have finished another world marathon with fantastic support.

London 2018

I was lucky enough to be able to have the chance to run London again. I was given a place by my running club in their ballot.
My training went very well and I was excited about running this amazing event again. The day came and it was scorching hot!! It was 25 degrees, the hottest London Marathon on record!
It really was the toughest race I have ever done. At 11 miles I was struggling but determined to finish.  I was so glad to finish in 4 hours and 18 minutes

Chicago 2018

I applied to run the Chicago Marathon for Jacks Team. They are a fantastic charity that support melanoma research. The charity supported their runners before, during and after the race. Chicago had 40,000 runners and 1.7 million spectators! It was a beautiful city to run through. I finished in 4 hours and 19 minutes. I was pleased to finish and was already looking forward to the next one!
